A Second Chance!

Everyone needs a second chance after…….

After life runs you over… Oct 20

Jeremiah 48:6-7 says, “run for your lives, become like a bush in the dessert. Since you trust in your deeds and riches, you too will be taken captive.” releasing your concerns to God, and trusting Him in all aspects of your life, no matter how minuscules they seem, bring true peace and joy to your life.

Our Lord Jesus Christ tells us in Matthew 6:27 ” Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?” so let go of your agonies, bring them to the altar, and God will take care of them.

After you hurt others… Oct 27

The Apostle Paul tells us in Romans 12:17 ” Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” yet we our quick reacting human nature rarely gives us a chance to proactively oppose the anger that overcomes us when we are upset, and which typically will lead us to hurt others, often our loved ones.

David tells us in Psalm 19:12 ” Who can discern his errors? Acquit me of hidden faults.” and Jesus warns us in Mark 1:25 “Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.”

After Divorce… Nov. 3

There is abundance of words in the Bible about marriage and divorce, e.g. (1 Corinthians 7:12-16) and the scriptures clearly state that a man and a woman should not divorce except for infidelity. yet our Lord Jesus Christ redeems us from all sins, and even after falling in the sin of divorce, if there is true repentance restoration is at hand.

after you’ve chickened out… Nov. 17

We find prophet Jeremiah in Jeremiah 20:9 saying “Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.” After his many troubles, Jeremiah tells us of his yet uncontrollable urge to confess the Lord.

The Apostle Paul was in a similar situation, but read what he said: “…None of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God” (Acts 20:24)
